Boulebar, London’s home of pétanque, pastis and unapologetically social competition, is set to significantly expand its South Bank venue this spring, doubling in size as it takes over the neighbouring Green Room site.
Reopening at the start of May, the larger venue will cement Boulebar’s position as one of London’s most exciting social experience destinations.
The all-new ‘Boulebar South Bank’ will feature a significantly increased number of courts, alongside 2 new bars and social spaces that blend the relaxed charm of southern France with the energy of London’s social scene. Guests can expect the same immersive atmosphere Boulebar is known for, with lots of gravel, an authentic design and a setting inspired by the parks of Provence, where the game of pétanque is at the heart of everyday life.
The experience goes far beyond the game itself, of course. The food and drink offering will continue to flirt with French culture, with charcuterie and seasonal dishes designed for groups, alongside a curated drinks menu featuring wines, cocktails, beers and traditional favourites such as pastis and crémant. Whether guests come to compete or simply soak up the atmosphere, Boulebar offers a genuine way to spend time with friends, family or colleagues.
Building on the success of its South Bank and Spitalfields venues, this growth marks a major milestone for Boulebar UK. The expansion also reflects the growing demand for experience-led hospitality in London, where social gaming concepts continue to thrive. With capacity for more than 500 guests, this new venue has been designed as a flexible, multi-area space suited to everything from casual visits to large-scale events, private hires and celebrations. Ça, c’est bon!
Commenting on the expansion, Alec Feakes, CEO of Boulebar UK, said: “This is a big moment for us. Since opening on the South Bank, the demand has been incredible. People are looking for more social ways to spend time together, and this gives us more space to deliver everything they already love about Boulebar, just on a bigger, bolder scale.”
With bookings already open ahead of the May reopening, Boulebar South Bank is set to become an even bigger playground for Londoners – a place to come together, share great food and drink, and enjoy the thrill of friendly competition.
London doesn’t just need another bar – it needs more places where people actually interact. That’s what Boulebar is about.
